Dimensions: 2 3/4" tall x 1 1/2" wide main stock of four horizontal laminates buttressed by two 2 3/8" tall x 1" wide side stocks laminated vertically on either side (see laminates photo below). Overall dimensions are 2 3/4" tall x 3 1/2"wide from the butt to the handle and then tapering to 2" tall x 2" wide at the muzzle. Lengths of 65" or 72" are made depending on the diver's personal preference.

Tuna/Grouper Gun Laminates

Weight: ~ 14.5 lbs for 65" gun and ~16 lb for the 72" gun (unrigged).

Shaft options: Ballasted for either a 65" or 72" long x 3/8" diameter shaft.

Band power: Optimum power and accuracy are achieved with five 5/8" diameter power bands on the 65" length or up to six 5/8" diameter power bands on the 72" length.

Band pull length: 63” on the 72” gun, 57 1/2” on the 65” gun.

Effective range from diver: ~30 feet for the 65" gun and ~ 33 feet for the 72" gun with 3 wraps of shooting line. I have hit and landed Wahoo at 36 feet and I have a friend who swears that he has hit and landed Wahoo after the pigtail had left the gun, which would measure over 40feet.

Grouper Gun

Dimensions: 2 5/8" tall x 1 1/2" wide main stock of four horizontal laminates buttressed by 2 1/4" tall x 13/16" wide side stocks laminated vertically on either side. Overall dimensions are 2 5/8" tall x 3" wide from the butt to the handle and then tapering to 1 3/4" tall x 1 3/4" wide at the muzzle. Lengths of 55" or 60" are made depending on the diver's personal preference. This gun is a smaller version of the tuna gun, but can be made with an open arrow track to prevent damage to the arrow track when used at closer range i.e. cave hunting.

Weight: ~12 lbs for the 55" gun and 13 lbs for the 60" gun (unrigged).

Shaft options: Ballasted for either a 55" or 60" long x 3/8" diameter shaft.

Band power: Four 5/8" diameter power bands.

Band pull length: 53” on the 60” gun, and 48” on the 55” gun.

Effective range from diver: ~20 to 22 feet with 3 wraps of shooting line.

Dimensions: 2 1/2" tall x 2 7/16" wide stock made of three vertical laminates and tapering forward of the handle to 1 5/8" tall x 1 1/4"wide at the muzzle. Lengths of 55", 57", and 60" are made depending on the diver's personal preference.

Weight: ~7.5 lbs to 8.5 lbs (unrigged) depending on the length.

Shaft options: Ballasted for 55", 57", or 60" x 5/16" diameter shaft.

Band power: Three 5/8" diameter power bands.

Band pull length: 7” less than the length of the gun.

Effective range from diver: ~18-20 feet with 2 wraps of shooting line.

Coastal Gun

Dirty Water Gun

Dimensions: 2 1/2" tall x 2 7/16" wide stock made of three vertical laminates and tapering forward of the handle to 1 1/2" tall x 1 1/4" wide at the muzzle. A larger (5/8") cove is used to remove material from the upper sides of the gun. The handle is installed forward of the standard location, exact placement depending on the diver's preference. An open arrow track is used to prevent damage to the gun when shooting at very close range (i.e. Halibut hunting). Length is 48".
